The Steel Hurtin’ is headed down to Texas this weekend to play the Houston roller girls! It’s not that often that the SCDD gets to play derby leagues in other regions, so the Hurtin’ is antsy to show their stuff to the gals down south. Thanks to all of our fans to contributed their support by donating some scratch to the Hurtin’ so they could afford to make the trip!
Good Luck, Hurtin’! Knock ‘em dead!
The Blitzburgh Bombers are heading up to Buffalo, NY as we type this post. They are set to play The Queen City Roller Girls tonight in what is sure to be a gripping rematch. Last season, Queen City just barely beat the B-Unit with a score that was neck-and-neck the whole game. In the end, a few key penalties on the B-Unit enabled the Buffalo Girls to inch by and win by only a 2 point margin. The final score was Buffalo 95, B-Unit 93.
Good luck, Bombers! Go get revenge for all of us!

Last night the Steel City Derby Demons took on the ladies of the Suburbia Roller Derby, hailing from Westchester, NY. The B-Unit started off the night battling the Suburbia Back Yard Bullies. The B-Unit got off to an early lead which the Bullies were never able to recover from. Final score: B-Unit 145, Bullies, 36.
The main event bout continued in that trend in which the Steel Hurtin’ floored the Suburbia Suburban Brawl. Towards the end of the second half, the Steel Hurtin’ had such a large lead in points, they tested the mettle of some of their blockers by having them take their turn at jamming. Final score: Hurtin’ 209, Suburban Brawl, 30.

The Steel Hurtin’ are proud to announce they took second place at the Spring Roll derby expo in Ft. Wayne Indiana this weekend! On Saturday morning, the Hurtin’ defeated the Bleeding Heartland Rollers 194 to 48.
Then they took on Detroit in what was sure to be a heated match. Earlier this year, Detroit defeated our girls and the Hurtin’ was ready and waiting for a rematch. The score was extremely close at the half with Detroit at 43 and the Hurtin’ with 39. Detroit was able to widen that gap just a little bit more in the second period and clinched the win with a final score of Detroit 109, Hurtin’ 82.
Detroit is currently ranked 12th in the nation, Steel City 16th.
On a last note, don’t forget to get your tickets for the SCDD home bout THIS Saturday! The Hurtin’ and the B-Unit will face the Suburbia Roller Girls of Westchester, NY.
