Last night, the Steel City Derby Demons hosted our neighbors from the middle of the state, the Dutchland Rollers from Lancaster, PA. It was yet another amazing sold-out venue full of cheering fans and rockin’ and rollin’ good derby fun.
First the Blitzburgh Bombers played the Dutch Blitz in an extremely close game that could have gone either way up until the very last jam. The teams exchanged leads throughout, but ultimately Dutchland was able to pull ahead by just a few more points to grab the win. Final score: Pittsburgh 77, Dutchland 82.
The second bout was between our Steel Hurtin’ girls and the Dutchland All-Stars. This exciting bout was extremely fast and full of bone-crunching action. The Steel Hurtin’ were able to grab an early lead in the first jam, and maintained it through the rest of the bout. The Dutchland girls fought very hard though, chipping away at the point deficit as they went. Final score: Pittsburgh 177, Dutchland 97.
